Black tourmaline coremembers

“The blackened heart of the Grotesque Guardians.”

About this item

The black tourmaline core is an item dropped by the Grotesque Guardians that can be found on the Slayer Tower's rooftop. It can be used to upgrade the Bandos boots to create guardian boots, after which the core is used up. This process is irreversible. In the book The Living Statues, it's revealed that the core was used by the Bandosian general Snaarldor to animate the statues of the Slayer Tower, giving life to the Grotesque Guardians as well as all the gargoyles in the tower.

Measured with medians rather than averages, because one spike — an update, a streamer, a brief squeeze — drags an average around for weeks afterwards and makes everything since look ordinary.
