The trident of the swamp is a one-handed powered staff requiring 78 Magic to wield. It is a direct upgrade of the trident of the seas, made with level 59 Crafting by using a magic fang on it with a chisel, which is a reversible process. However, unlike its predecessor, the trident can only be listed for sale on the Grand Exchange when it is fully uncharged. The trident possesses a passive effect wherein successful hits with either the built-in spell or a manually-cast combat spell have a 25% chance of inflicting venom on the opponent.
