Magic staff

“A Magical staff.”

About this item

A magic staff is a magic weapon providing standard magical bonuses and the autocast option when equipped. It is an improvement over the basic staff, with over double the magical bonuses and higher melee bonuses. Due to not possessing any elemental features, it is a very unpopular weapon of choice. The staff can most easily be purchased from Zaff's Superior Staffs! in Varrock, dropped by various enemies, or obtained as a reward from the Shades of Mort'ton minigame.

Its high alch value of 120 does not cover the 150 nature rune it would burn, so alching is a loss before the item itself is counted.

Measured with medians rather than averages, because one spike — an update, a streamer, a brief squeeze — drags an average around for weeks afterwards and makes everything since look ordinary. Worth noting here: this item typically moves 18.63% in a day, which is more than the 4.95% you would be capturing — so holding it overnight risks more than the flip makes.
