The obsidian cape (r) is obtained as a possible reward from master Treasure Trails. According to the treasure chest interface, the (r) stands for "red". Aside from appearance, it is no different from an obsidian cape. This item does not work in replacement to the obsidian cape required for the master clue emote step on Zul-Andra.
