“A dark, thick, foul-smelling, tar-like substance.”

About this item

Irit tar is an item used as food, or "ammunition", for tecu salamanders when used as a weapon. It can be made at level 55 Herblore by using 15 swamp tar on an irit leaf, whilst having a pestle and mortar in the inventory. This process yields 15 irit tar, and grants 85 Herblore experience. Although the Hunter skill guide in-game states that it can optionally be used as bait for hunting tecu salamanders to increase the catch rate by 3%, this has not actually been implemented.

Measured with medians rather than averages, because one spike — an update, a streamer, a brief squeeze — drags an average around for weeks afterwards and makes everything since look ordinary.
