Knife

“A dangerous looking knife.”

About this item

A knife is a multi-functional tool used for a large variety of tasks, primarily used for fletching logs in the Fletching skill and cutting food in the Cooking skill. It sees secondary usage in the Crafting skill. Additionally, it can be used to cut through webs and setup Hunter traps. They are sold in many general stores, at Trader Stan's Trading Post on Karamja, or the Ardougne Spice Stall.

it moves further in a day than the spread you are trying to capture

Measured with medians rather than averages, because one spike — an update, a streamer, a brief squeeze — drags an average around for weeks afterwards and makes everything since look ordinary. Worth noting here: this item typically moves 9.14% in a day, which is more than the 7.92% you would be capturing — so holding it overnight risks more than the flip makes.
